Citizens in the state of Texas along the Gulf Coast are once again at risk of being affected by a major hurricane. Residents along the coast are encouraged to prepare now. They are asked to fill their gas tanks, to make necessary preparations to protect their property, ready their evacuation kit, and listen to the authorities in their county or city for instructions on when and where to evacuate if necessary.
Those who need assistance in evacuating need to immediately call 2-1-1 and register. This registration takes time. Registration will be stopped at approximately 72 hours prior to hurricane landfall.
