Gov. Rick Perry today unveiled a public service announcement to raise awareness and encourage donations to the Texas Disaster Relief Fund. Contributions to the fund are tax deductible and will be allocated to local governments and organizations to help those directly impacted by Hurricane Ike.

The federal government will reimburse the state of Texas and affected local governments for 100 percent of eligible emergency debris-removal work and emergency protective measures performed for a 14-day period retroactive to Sept. 13, the date of President Bush’s major disaster declaration for Hurricane Ike.
